Used John Deere Tractors Retain Value

We all know how tough and reliable John Deere tractors are, but our pride increased even more when a reader came to us with a 1980 John Deere 4040 with over 20,000 hours AND the original motor. But wait, there’s more! He also has a 1985 John Deere 2550 with just under 20,000 hours. He purchased the 4040 with only 600 hours on it, and the 2550 with only 850 hours on it. Until recent engine block cracks, he had been using both of them on his farm in Ontario, Canada. He described these two tractors as “true work horses,” a statement we absolutely agree with.

Machinery Pete had the following to say:

“Wow, 19,000 and 20,000+ hours on these Deere tractors before any issues with the block is pretty amazing. I’ve seen over 53,600+ Tractors sold at auctions around the U.S. and Canada the last 15 years alone and haven’t heard too many stories of that kind of engine longevity.  One unique indication of why used Deere tractors have held their value so very well over the decades.”

We’re always open to hearing exciting stories from our readers! If you have any high hour John Deere tractors, head over to the MachineFinder Facebook Page and let us know about them.  Be sure to take pictures as well, we’d love to see them and maybe even add them to this post.  In the meantime, enjoy the pictures below of the tractors that prove “Nothing Runs Like a Deere.”
