John Deere at the 2012 National Farm Machinery Show

February 24, 2012

National Farm Machinery Show

Each year the National Farm Machinery Show attracts thousands of people interested in viewing the latest and greatest farming equipment to the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, Kentucky. This year was no different. Despite a continually-challenging agriculture and economic climate, last week’s four day show welcomed over 305,000 people, making it the third highest attendance ever in the show’s 47 year history.

While major machinery brands took up the largest chunks of floorspace, smaller booths displaying everything from boots to baskets made sure no area was left empty. The near record-breaking crowd, and sheer size of the show, made it virtually impossible to see everything available. We were sure to spend ample time in the one area that we know you care about most: John Deere.

The Top John Deere Advertisements

January 31, 2012

Last summer we posted eight of our favorite John Deere advertisements, but we came across a few more as we went back in time to write our JD 175th Anniversary post a few weeks ago. While John Deere advertisements have always been creative, they also instill a sense of passion and loyalty that many Deere owners can relate to. Although Deere builds equipment for everything from backyard gardening to enormous farms, they still find a way to make a connection with all people in their advertisements. Join us as we travel from a 1926 John Deere advertisement to present day commercials.

Little Kids, Big Wheels

November 15, 2011

Every little kid is mesmerized by the sight of a big John Deere tractor, especially when their tires are five times larger than the kids themselves! The look on their faces as they gaze out the car window at a tractor sitting up on a flatbed truck rolling down the highway, a procession of tractors in a parade, or just a plain stationary tractor somewhere on a nearby farm is priceless. Here’s a few photographs of kids admiring the proud majesty of very large tractors with some very large tires.

Halloween is right around the corner, and the true John Deere fans will be out in full force.  In preparation, we’ve scoured the internet and found some past fans who have shown off their dedication to the green and yellow with John Deere tractor Halloween costumes.

Though most are young children, there’s no reason a grown adult couldn’t pull off a tractor costume.  If you have pictures of a John Deere costume, share them with us on the MachineFinder Facebook Page!
