Today, if you turn on the television, visit a website, tune in to your favorite radio station, or pick up a magazine, you could very well hear or see a mention of the John Deere brand. John Deere’s marketing efforts are one of the key components that have made the brand what it is today, and its marketing roots can be traced many decades back.

The company’s annual new product introductions typically draw the most buzz within the agriculture community, and back in 1966, its “Power Train ’66” campaign had the industry buzzing more than it ever had before. Today, a half century later, we want to reminisce on this marketing marvel and describe to those that may have not been around exactly why it was such a memorable campaign.
