John Deere Unveils Autonomous Tractor at CES 2022
At CES 2022, which took place in early January, John Deere revealed its autonomous tractor – this machine combines the company’s 8R tractor, TruSet-enabled chisel plow, and GPS guidance system to ensure producers have access to the most refined technology in the industry. The tractor also has six pairs of stereo cameras for 360-degree obstacle detection and distance calculation. Additionally, it continuously checks its position relative to a geofence to ensure it operates where it’s supposed to. What’s more, positioning is within less than an inch of accuracy.

John Deere Introduces 2 New Signature Edition Gator UVs
Next up in the list of exciting John Deere announcements was the introduction of the new XUV835R Signature Edition Gator™ Utility Vehicle and the XUV865R Signature Edition Gator Utility Vehicle. Both vehicles will be premium models offering a range of features, such as a climate-controlled cab and four-wheel drive in order to meet the demand for UVs with more premium, automotive-inspired features.

John Deere Adds to Its 2022 Startup Collaborator Program
Towards the end of the month, John Deere took the time to announce that it had added seven companies to its 2022 Startup Collaborator program, an initiative that was originally launched in 2019 to enhance Deere’s investment in new ideas and technologies. The seven companies added to the program this year include Burro, CropZone.com, Four Growers, SeeDevice, Ucropit, ViewAR, and Yard Stick.

John Deere Receives Eight 2022 AE50 Awards for Innovation
Last but not least, January was wrapped up with the announcement that John Deere was named a winner of the 2022 AE50 Awards, receiving eight awards for outstanding innovations. Each year, the ASABE gives out 50 awards to honor innovative product-engineering designs across the food and agricultural industry. Those who receive the award are recognized for their efforts to bring new technology to farmers and food processors. This year, John Deere was honored for the following innovations:
