Welcome to the next generation of planting! John Deere ExactEmerge™ planters offer more accuracy and increased speed. It’s hard to believe that with 10mph planting capabilities, owners and operators can achieve singulation, population, spacing, and uniform depth like never before. Get your profits to where you need them by maximizing productivity efficiency, and yield potential.
Originally designed for corn and soybean producers about three years ago, we thought it would be helpful to check in on how the technology is working for them. In the video below, you’ll have a chance to hear from one of the first users – Greg Smith, a grower in Cummins, Kansas.

Greg started using the planter in 2013 when it first hit the market. At that time, he admits that he was a little skeptical about how going 10mph would impact overall performance on the field.
“I was a little skeptical at first, but I couldn’t have been any more pleased. The spacing is just perfect. There’s no variance there. The depth was even a better surprise to me. It’s not a big deal going fast anymore. I can’t believe how great a stand my crop is. But the quality of life is the big benefit to me, being able to have more family time.” – Greg Smith
Today, now having complete confidence in the machine, going that fast isn’t a big deal to him like it was a few years ago. In fact, he explains that he would hate to go backwards and run an old, conventional planter again.
Greg finds himself even getting great use out of the features that he overlooked at first. For example, the Row Runoff feature is now one of his favorites because you can check each row and see where there is planting and not.
Final Thoughts
When the ExactEmerge was first introduced to the market in 2014, John Deere customers were able to experience this game-changing technology on two well-known planters, the 1775NT and 1795. Due to its growing popularity and the need for this same type of innovation across other planters – this is no longer the case.
Customers can now leverage all of these features to achieve better performance with Deere’s new ExactEmerge Retrofit Kits for 1770NT CCS MY11 or newer, 1790 MY11 or newer, and DB Series MY12 or newer machines.
Contact your local John Deere dealer for more information about the ExactEmerge or other planter models.
