To accommodate customers who want more insight into how their lawn tractor is working for them, John Deere has rolled out Smart Connectors to accompany the MowerPlus™ app. These Smart Connectors communicate with the MowerPlus smartphone app via Bluetooth® technology. Depending on the mower model and connector, the new add-ons can communicate everything from fuel level to battery state.

An Overview of the MowerPlus App

The smartphone app, MowerPlus, was introduced by Deere back in 2016. It is available for both Android and iOS devices, and it allows users to optimize their use of lawn equipment over time.

“Mowing the lawn is so much more than just making tall grass short,” said Kevin Duax, product line planner of John Deere. “With our MowerPlus app, homeowners can easily refer to expert tips and historical data to ensure efficient and effective lawn upkeep.”

In the iOS version of MowerPlus, customers can deploy the “Mow Now” feature to hone in on mowing metrics and get an overview of how their entire mowing season has gone to date. They can also receive an aerial view of their entire mowing path, giving them an opportunity to diversify it for the health of their lawns.

In the Android version of the app, customers can look at model-specific information for proper set-up, maintenance and operation. There is also an area where they can store serial numbers and dealer contact information within the app itself.

Smart Connector Availability

The MowerPlus Smart Connector is available for the X300 Series and X500 Series models. With this specific connector, customers can keep an eye on engine hours, whether they’re using an Android or iOS device and the MowerPlus app. With the app, customers can also adjust their mower maintenance schedule and regulate fuel levels.

The MowerPlus Hour Meter Connector is available for the 100 Series and S240 lawn tractors. With this connector, customers can communicate hour meter information to the MowerPlus app. This connector is exclusively compatible with the iOS version of MowerPlus.

Both of the connectors are available through John Deere dealers. They can be easily installed by being attached to the wiring harness of a compatible mower.
