In an effort to keep up with customer needs and demand, John Deere has updated the John Deere 310L EP Backhoe and 210L EP Tractor Loader. New engine technology and other adjustments have been designed to improve uptime and productivity for operators on the job. “Our goal is to continue to support the ‘EP strategy’ and to offer an effective backhoe solution under the 56-kW power level, which allows for greater flexibility to meet emission regulations,” said Brian Hennings, product marketing manager, backhoes and tractor loaders, John Deere Construction & Forestry.

Let’s take a closer look at the John Deere 310L EP Backhoe and 210L EP Tractor Loader and what they can offer operators on the job.

John Deere 310L EP Backhoe

The John Deere 310L EP Backhoe features a Yanmar 3.3L Interim Tier 4 diesel engine which complies with EPA FT4 emissions regulations. It also has a new variable displacement hydraulic pump which delivers increased flow and enhanced power management; the pump modulates flow in order to balance the power split between hydraulics and the transmission. The 310L EP comes standard with PowerShift Transmission, allowing for on-the-fly, smooth, clutch-free gear shifting. Customers can also opt for Ultimate Uptime, featuring John Deere WorkSight. With Ultimate Uptime, operators receive predelivery and follow-up inspections that include five years of JDLink telematics, machine health prognostics, remote diagnostics, programming capabilities, and the ability to add dealer-provided uptime solutions to a customized package.

John Deere 210L EP Tractor Loader

Similar to the 310L EP Backhoe, the John Deere 210L EP Tractor Loader comes with a Yanmar 3.3L Interim Tier 4 diesel engine that complies with EPA FT4 emissions regulations. It also has a variable hydraulic pump for increased flow and enhanced power management. For additional efficiency, the John Deere 210L EP has Eco Mode, which helps maximize fuel usage in lighter-work applications with minimal effect on machine performance. Mechanical-front-wheel drive and the differential lock can be engaged on the go for additional traction in poor conditions or while moving heavy loads. Like the John Deere 310LEP Backhoe, the John Deere 210L EP Tractor Loader can also be equipped with Ultimate Uptime, which includes five years of JDLink, among other benefits.
