To meet the demands of producers seeking more accuracy while planting out in the field, John Deere has rolled out AutoPath™. This new precision ag application utilizes data collected from the first pass in the field to establish precise row guidance for the following field passes, regardless of the machine type or width of the equipment.

“When using AutoPath, guidance lines are automatically created from a map of crop row lines for each field,” said John Mishler, precision ag marketing manager for John Deere. “These mapped row lines are used to automatically create guidance lines for the entire field for all other in-field passes, such as spraying, nutrient application, or harvesting operations, later in the year. Using this solution, operators know which rows to start on and can precisely follow the auto-generated guidance lines, regardless of the field application or machine width. This increases operator confidence in being on the right row and the efficiency of field operations throughout the growing season and harvest.”

Let’s take a closer look at some of the features of John Deere AutoPath and how it can potentially help you on the job out in the field.

CommandCenter™ Automation

CommandCenter Automation activation uses all available precision ag applications to create a single orderable product for the 4600 CommandCenter Display. This approach provides more customer value, allowing producers to use the applications they want throughout the crop production cycle. No more worrying about the expense of licensing various precision ag applications!

Gen 4 Section Control

With John Deere Gen 4 Section Control, the boom sections can be switched on or off to reduce overlap and improve overall product placement.

Machine Sync

Machine Sync uses in-field data sharing to show producers the location of all of their combines and tractors within the fleet of Gen 4 machines. With this information, operators can ensure that they are always in the right place at the right time.

AutoTrac™ Turn Automation

AutoTrac Turn Automation helps producers automatically complete accurate turns and carry out end-of-pass functions at the appropriate time. This ultimately reduces the strain on the operator.

AutoTrac™ Implement Guidance

With AutoTrac Implement Guidance, operators can maximize the use of inputs by increasing accuracy and repeatability at the implement, thanks to a second receiver on the implement itself.
