4 John Deere Tractors Sell for Record Prices at Iowa Auction

December 15, 2011

Wow, only 400 acres.

That’s all Ronald Gramenz farmed near Independence, IA. But Mr. Gramenz had quite a line of impressive, very low hour John Deere equipment. This past Tuesday, December 6, 2011, I traveled to Independence, IA to cover the estate farm auction for Mr. Gramenz. Sullivan Auctioneers out of Hamilton, IL had the sale. So how did the sale go?

4 new record high auction prices were set on the 4 Deere tractors on this sale. But the piece of equipment EVERYONE was talking about Tuesday was Mr. Gramenz’s 1992 used JD 9500 combine witih 10 Series updates and a total of only 1,391 engine hours. It sold for the highest auction price I’ve seen any Deere 9500 combine sell for in over 10 years….and I’ve seen a TON of JD 9500’s sell at auction all around North America.

This auction was more proof of how very, very HOT the used farm equipment market is here in late 2011. LOTS of folks out there looking for quality used equipment, and for last minute tax deductions here in December. They found both Tuesday in Indepedence, IA.
