December 2, 2010
Used tractor values continue to climb here late in 2010. More proof came at a nice farm auction December 1st near Hull, IL (west-central Illinois), on a sale by Sullivan Auctioneers. A 2001 JD 7810 MFWD tractor with 1,345 “1 owner” hours sold for $83,250. I checked the “auction results” database in our Machinerypete.com web site and found (181) auction sale prices on 7810’s. $83,250 is the 3rd highest price I’ve seen.
…interesting note: the only (2) higher auction prices I’ve run across on JD 7810 tractors? Both came from sales in east-central South Dakota.
Another Deere tractor sold very high on the December 1st farm auction in west-central Illinois: a 1986 JD 4650 MFWD with 4,738 hours. Sale price $46,000. Again, I checked our Machinerypete.com web site and found $46,000 to be the highest auction price I’ve seen on a 4650 since January 1999!
Auction prices rolling into my office from around U.S. and Canada daily proving the same point. Very strong buyer demand out there right now for very good condition used tractors.
